We will host three Protecting God’s Children workshops during the summer. All will take place on Thursdays at 7:00pm in the Parish Center.
The workshops dates are:
*Thursday, June 11 at 7 pm in Parish Center
*Thursday, July 23 at 7 pm in Parish Center
*Thursday, September 3 at 7 pm in Parish Center
Theses workshops are designed to help us identify behaviors which put our children at risk of abuse. All priests, deacons, principals, teachers, coaches, youth ministers and lay volunteers who interact with children in diocesan, parish and school sponsored programs are required to attend a Protecting God’s Children workshop.
We cannot schedule events involving children without background checks (current within five years), a signed Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Policy (renewed yearly) and certificates showing completion of the Protecting God’s Children workshop by all the adults involved.
If you would like to volunteer for any of our programs involving youth, or would just like to learn more about Protecting God’s Children, please attend. All adults over18 years of age are welcome and encouraged to attend these free workshops. By learning together, we all play a part in keeping our parishes and schools safe for children.
To register, visit our Diocesan website www.diocese-kcsj.org, click on “Protecting Children” then “Workshop Dates”. If you don’t have internet access, please call Martin at 229-3378 and we can get your information to signed you up.
All volunteers interacting with our youth must have attended a Protecting God’s Children workshop before helping out with Totus Tuus, VBS, coaching, or any other activity involving children.
Thank you once again for supporting your parish, and for helping to protect God’s children.
