An extraordinary minister of Holy Communion is a member of the laity, man or woman, whom the local bishop mandates to extend the ministry of the ordained in the task of distributing Holy Communion. These special ministers also assist with distribution of the Blessed Sacrament to the sick, the shut-in and at liturgies. Confirmed parishioners who have been selected and trained are invited to this ministry role.
Taking Holy Communion to the homebound or to those hospitalized or in nursing homes is a kind and generous act of ministry. We offer Communion to our homebound parishioners on a weekly basis. Any Minister of Holy Communion who is willing and available is welcome to help.
If you know of someone who is away from Church and would like Communion, please let us know by contacting the Parish Office at 229-3378.
